Shopping Tips at Target

I get a lot of questions as to how I get such great deals at Target. I decided I am going to let you in on the secret! lol. If you know the secrets, skip this post-- it'll be just a repeat of what you already know!

To those who are not informed, here it goes!

  1. Before you head to Target, always check for the online coupons they offer. You would be surprise of all the clothing, accessories and other coupons that are worth printing out. Even if you do not need it at the moment, print it and stash it into your purse/wallet.
  2. Go to Target with an open-mind. This way you'll have a clean slate of what you can bring home with you, even when you did not think it was necessary.
  3. Target has a mark down schedule: follow it!
    1. Monday- Kids clothes, Electronics and Stationary
    2. Tuesday- Women’s Clothing and Household Decor
    3. Wednesday- Men’s Clothing, Health/Beauty, Food, and Toys
    4. Thursday- Housewares, SHOES, and Lingerie
    5. Friday- Cosmetics, Hardware, Automotive, Housewares, Jewelry
  4. Follow the schedule!
  5. When Target items go on sale, the markdown starts at 15%, then 30% after two-weeks (depending on the inventory), 50% and then lastly 70%. In the range of 15, 30, 50 and 70%-- the price will end with "8"--( ie: $7.48) When the item is discounted to 85% off, the price will end with "4"-- (ie: $4.74) This states that the item will no longer be discounted. Note on the clearance tag-- the percentage on the right top corner will give you a % off.
  6. Most of the time, clothing, shoes and lingerie will start at 30% off, instead of 15%. All the other items, especially beauty--will start at 15% off.
  7. Do not be afraid to browse the store in the areas the day it is marking down. I have no problem digging into racks of clothes when there's a huge markdown.
  8. NOTE: When browsing in the clothing and shoes, there are plenty of online returns and that's where the bargain is!! The items that are returned from online is marked down heavily because they do not have the inventory of that specific item-- sometimes the items are in store and if you get lucky and snatch an online return, its 70% off the price!
  9. AND, get yourself a Target Red Card- You can link your debit card to the Target card-- which means, it'll just come out of your checking and you are not signing up for an actual credit card. Make sure to bring a VOID Check!
I hope this post was informative and you will make use of out it!

Green & Yellow

Recently, I have gone into summer mode for both work and blogging. When the weather gets warmer, I think everyone is on that sort of mode. I could not imagine working in a career that I had to dedicate 40+hours in one building. With my personality, I need to be on a constant move with new perspective and changes. My profession is perfect for me. I meet new people every 16-weeks. Sometimes I will have a group of students that I will miss so much and then there's one particular group that I just could not wait to give my farewells. lol. If you are a teacher, you know exactly what I mean. Teaching a group of students' is a lottery, sometimes you win; sometimes you don't. This week is going to be such a whirlwind because of last minute assignments I need to grade, finals and grade submission. Since I do not want to drive back to campus after this week, I am trying to submit everything by Wednesday! Yikes, it's going to be hard and exhausting but definitely better than dragging it along until the actual due date!

Here is a dress I picked up from Target a few weeks ago (note: you must size up, does not help with esteem). When I thought of pairing it with a green cardigan-- I thought to myself, man, it might be too loud and obnixious.... than I see Ginny from My New Favorite Outfit pair the colors together-- I knew I was not crazy... just brilliant! lol. The craziest part about this purchase is that, I did not noticed it was lined with a stripe fabric underneath until I tried it on at home. AND this bow belt was the greatest purchase of all time!

Imaginative Scarf

Do you ever picture an item you want but it does not exist? You may have seen the idea somewhere and hope that one day that thing you want comes into existence? Sometimes if you are lucky, it'll happen and other times it's just a dream.

The funny thing is, this scarf is just that. I have seen the color scheme of orange, blue and white many times and thought it was the perfect color combination. One night before bed, I thought about how I would love a floral scarf in these color... A few days after my late night imagination, I stumbled upon the PERFECT floral scarf at Target. Note that I went into Target for a swim cap, not a scarf- or my imaginative item that came into existence. The awesome thing is, they just put this item out- It's a Vera scarf for Target. To top it off, I almost forgot to buy the swimming cap! lol.

Relaxing Tuesday

As the semester winds down, students are exhausted and I am irritated. You would think that I would be happy and excited... well I am, but I am tired of students giving me the run around about missing assignments. Seriously? Are we all five-years old? Get your priorities straight, this is COLLEGE! Then again, I have to take into consideration how I was during my college years... Sometimes an excuse was necessary for a weekend of too much fun or irresponsibility took a hold of your life. As my students continuously give themselves breaks and skip on homework. I am giving myself a break too. I have been busy all morning running errands because I work the entire Monday, so Tuesday is devoted to responsibilities. Now that I am done with errands, I decided that an extra large t-shirt, shorts, television, and maybe some ice cream is much better than getting dolled up today. To all the ladies that got dressed this morning and look gorgeous, I toast a Happy Tuesday to you, while I sit here lounging until the Golden State Warriors Game tonight.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
